“Change Your Story” Paint Fundraiser - Sunday, July 13th from 2:00 - 5:00pm
Ellington Community Theatre invites you to an afternoon of fun and creativity as we gather to celebrate the upcoming production of Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical. Join us and create something beautiful (and perhaps, kind of magical).Amy Rickett, Psy.D., will lead the group in creating an expressive arts “magical book” composition inspired by Matilda. Dr. Rickett will guide participants step-by-step to imagine and create something uniquely their own, with easy-to-follow directions and guidance throughout the event. Light-hearted discussion about the magic of theater, the themes of the show, and the magic of storytelling will be a focus of conversation. Ellington Community Theatre’s Production Crew members and other volunteers will be on hand to help with supplies, questions and more. All painting materials will be provided. Participants may bring snacks to enjoy and to share, and the Elks will be opening a cash bar for those (21 and over) who wish to sip while they paint. Soda and other non-alcoholic beverages will also be available for purchase. No outside beverages will be allowed, except for water. All proceeds will go to Ellington Community Theatre to support future events and productions.
Tickets $30.00, or $25.00 for ECT members. Must have at least 10 participants to run the event, maximum of 20 painters.

FAQ’s:
Q: How old do you have to be to participate? A: All ages 7+ are welcome, and parental supervision is required for children 13 and under. Older children may attend without a parent at the parent’s discretion. Younger children may have difficulty with the project, and may choose to paint something different if they prefer. Dr. Amy can provide suggestions but will not be able to provide individualized guidance for alternate projects. Please consider your child’s abilities when deciding if this event is right for them.
Q: My child wants to come and paint, but I don’t want to do the project. What should I do? A: Please come along or send another adult to supervise and support your child with their project. You don’t have to buy a ticket or make a painting - just come and hang out with us and be a part of the day. We do need an accurate headcount, so please include a note with your order if a non-painting adult is planning to attend. Please only bring children who are planning to do the project and have a ticket.
Q: Do I have to be an artist? A: Absolutely not! The instructor will provide instruction and support to help guests with their creations.
