Covid-19 Update: It is with sadness that we make the official announcement that we will be postponing our production of "Willy Wonka" to the summer of 2021. If you are currently registered for summer 2020, you will be receiving an e-mail regarding your registration fee.
When the Board of Directors met tonight we discussed a number of scenarios for offering people the opportunity to perform, most of them virtual. We will be posting and e-mailing out information with our ideas for continuing to share our skills and talents as a community throughout the summer, so stay tuned.
Thank you for your patience and your continued support of Ellington Community Theatre. We look forward to performing together again in 2021.
Ellington Community Theatre began in 2014 with a production of "Honk! Jr." With a cast of 25 children, we sold out 3 performances in a church basement! With encouragement from the families, we decided to expand the next summer to produce a full show, "Seussical!"and to open the cast up to all ages. We followed that with a production of "The Music Man" in 2016 with a cast ranging in age from 5 - 55. In 2017 we expanded our cast and doubled our audience with our production of "Annie!" 2018 began a new chapter as we incorporated into a 501c3 (nonprofit) organization. Our production of Peter Pan involved 95 cast members, and reached an audience of almost 1500! 2019 brought us a stellar performance of "The Wizard of Oz" and we hope to hit the ground running in 2021!
We aim to create a high quality theatre experience for both participants and the audience. Our staff and volunteers work hard to provide cast and crew members of all ages and abilities with the opportunity to learn and grow within an Intergenerational community.
