Ellington Community Theatre began in 2014 with a production of "Honk! Jr." With a cast of 25 children, we sold out 3 performances in a church basement! With encouragement from the families, we decided to expand the next summer to produce a full show, "Seussical!" and to open the cast up to all ages. We followed that with a production of "The Music Man" in 2016 with a cast ranging in age from 5 - 55. In 2017 we expanded our cast and doubled our audience with our production of "Annie!" 2018 began a new chapter as we incorporated into a 501c3 (nonprofit) organization. Our production of Peter Pan involved 95 cast members, and reached an audience of almost 1500! 2019 brought us a stellar performance of "The Wizard of Oz" and the beginning of what would become a worldwide pandemic. As a result, ECT paused our signature full-scale productions and performed a "Covid Cabaret" in the summer of 2021. By 2022, we were back up and running, and produced our most ambitious show to date- Disney's Newsies! After a successful summer 2022 run, we hit the ground running again in 2023 and were proud to present an equally spectacular production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast! This production earned us several award nominations, and we couldn't be prouder. We can't wait for another fantastic season in 2024! We appreciate the unwavering support of our local community!
